Commander Campbell de Burgh BSc CEng MIET OBE RN (Rtd)
Photo taken at HMS Collingwood Burns Night
Campbell joined the Navy in 1964 as a Cadet and retired in 1999 as a Commander (E) (WE) having served on small ships and frigates before becoming a MoD warrior. He took up the pipes on turning 40 and was self taught until he met the Pinstripe Highlanders in London where he was tutored for a short time by P/M John "Gabby" Roe. On re-appointment to Foxhill in Bath he met Bill Gass who continued as his tutor.
In 1993, with Bill's help, Campbell re-formed the RNPS and was its Secretary until leaving the service in 1999. Not wishing to lose touch he took on the job of Membership Secretary and later he took over the website. Living in Dorset, currently Campbell is Chairman of the Ringwood Pipe Band and is one of their regular players.
